The fourth sequel to a game first released in 1990, Heroes IV is a turn based strategy game that takes place in a familiar fantasy setting. The Heroes of Might and Magic series has both. With that in mind, it makes sense for developers and publishers to release games that have proven themselves in the past, or better yet, have a dedicated fan base. The sheer number of titles available within the strategy market, never mind the sub-genres, makes it supremely difficult for any company to make a name for itself. They are both in abundance, and it’s a rare month when something from each genre doesn’t find its way on the shelves. Strategy and FPS games seem to almost define PC gaming sometimes.
